Why Women Cry...
Why Women Cry
A little boy asked his mother, "Why are you crying?" "Because I'm a woman," she told him. "I don't understand," he said. His Mom just hugged him and said, "And you never will." Later the little boy asked his father, "Why does mother seem to cry for no reason?" "All women cry for no reason," was all his dad could say.
The little boy grew up and became a man, still wondering why women cry. Finally he put in a call to God. When God got on the phone, he asked, "God, why do women cry so easily?"
God said:
"When I made the woman she had to be special. I made her shoulders strong enough to carry the weight of the world, yet gentle enough to give comfort.
I gave her an inner strength to endure childbirth and the rejection that many times comes from her children.
I gave her a hardness that allows her to keep going when everyone else gives up, and take care of her family through sickness and fatigue without complaining.
I gave her the sensitivity to love her children under any and all circumstances, even when her child has hurt her very badly.
I gave her strength to carry her husband through his faults and fashioned her from his rib to protect his heart.
I gave her wisdom to know that a good husband never hurts his wife, but sometimes tests her strengths and her resolve to stand beside him unfalteringly.
And finally, I gave her a tear to shed. This is hers exclusively to use whenever it is needed."
"You see my son," said God, "the beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman must be seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart - the place where love resides."

I pray for strength...

Today, Chad told me he doesn't think he can do that anymore. It's not like I want to be put on a pedastool but I would like some affection, in front of your friends and family (not just mine or when we are by ourselves), to be made to feel special. I don't remember the last time I felt special because of him. I am so lost and confused at this point. I love him so much, but if this is how it is always going to be, then I don't think I can do that. I always said that when I got married, it was forever, but it seems like that is going down the drain. My marriage and happy family seem to have disappeared and I can't do anything to bring it back. What did I ever do to deserve this? I feel so sad, lonely, depressed, and stressed. I pray for strength. I think I am going to need it.

An update...

Well we went to the Dr. on Friday. Nothing major, but we did get to hear the heartbeat...okay, that is a big thing. It did ease a bit of stress on my part. I just don't feel pregnant. Those of you who have been pregnant know what I mean. No morning sickness, aren't showing yet, no physical signs of being pregnant....plus with all of the stress I have endured over the past 2 months, I was a little scared that there wouldn't be a heartbeat. But, there was and that is what matters! We took Dade with us (by we, I mean, Chad and I) so that he could hear it as well. I am hoping to schedule the ultrasound, when it comes time, so that both of the boys can go and see it. I think the ultrasound is cool and hopefully they will too. I do have a little bump, but not much and I haven't actually gained any weight yet...don't get all judgemental, those who gained weight from the beginning. I WILL gain weight and I WILL make up for not gaining any in the beginning...I'll just wake up one morning and go "where did that some from" as I look down and can't see my feet any more!! lol!!
Chad and I have been doing really well over the past week. He stayed here since Thursday night after work. Tonight he went to his brothers house. he says he doesn't want to rush back into everything yet. I have so many mixed emotions going on and I am also trying to ignore bad thoughts in the back of my head. I want to focus on the positive, but it can be so hard. Sometimes I am afraid he'd rather be at his brother's house than here with us, or that I really am going to end up a single mother of three. Only time will tell I suppose. All I know is that I have to do my best to keep my chin up, think positive and do my best at what I need to do to make it work. To all or any of you who are praying for us, I thank you very much. Please continue the prayers. God Bless.

Cuddling and hugs....a perk of being a parent.

One of my favorite things about being a mom is all the cuddling and hugs you can get from your younger children. I was at families house today visiting (her daughter had spent the night with Dade) and Dade was playing with his cousin outside. We had been there for quite some time and Dade just decided to climb up in my lap, and lay with his arms around me and his head on my chest. A lot of kids do this when they are sick but I knew he wasn't. Jamie looked at me and was kind of shocked. She said she had never seen him do that. I reassured her that it was actually quite normal for Dade. He is a big cuddler when he wants to be and I absolutely LOVE it! Dawson, my oldest is way out of that stage. He barely even wants to give hugs anymore and heaven forbid if I ask for a kiss, especially in public!! Lol!! He will come up and out of the blue want a hug, and I always give it to him. I try not to deny my kids hugs and kisses (unless they are using as an excuse to get out of bed..Lol). Dawson's are fewer and far between, so I cherish every last one of them. I take advantage of all the cuddling and hugs and kisses that Dade dishes out, because before you know it, they are "too old" for all that kid stuff!! Dade will come up to Chad and I and reach to give us both big hugs and Dade's favorite thing to tell us is that we are the "Best parents in the (world/galaxy/city...etc)" and I love it when he can tell I am having a bad day and gives me a big hug and tells me I am the "Most beautiful mom ever", it always makes me smile and he knows it. That is why he says it, so that I will smile. All he wants is to be loved and love in return. He may get mad and throw a fit, but in the end, he'll climb up on my lap, give me a big hug and kiss, and cuddle. And I love every minute of it!

kids and being a MOM...
Don't get me wrong I absolutely LOVE my kids, but any parent would be lying if they were to say their kids NEVER drove them insane!! They don't drive me nuts all of the time, just sometimes.
The thing that gets me is, they don't act nearly as bad when Chad is home and that just straight pisses me off to a certain extent. They tend to walk all over me at times and I am fed up! Then they get mad at me when they get into trouble! Hello!! I just dish out the punishments as I see necessary. I didn't do whatever it was that got you into trouble. You made that choice. Get mad at yourself! Why is it that I bend over backwards for my kids and they don't even notice? I bet they would notice if I quit doing it. Sounds like a great idea, huh? Will I quit doing things for them. Nope.
I won't even pretend that I will, because I know I couldn't do that. I do things for them because mom's are the most unselfish creatures there are. We all do things for our kids before we would ever even think of ourselves. That is what we do. Because we are MOM'S! Mom's are always there for you to kiss your boo boo's, to lean on their shoulders to cry, to give out as many hugs and kisses as often as you'd like (or just little head pats if you are embarrassed by hugs and kisses ;)) I have to add that being a mom is the hardest and most underpaid job out there. If you are a mom, you know you agree with me. You don't get paid by money, but by good warm fuzzy feelings, watching them grow up, getting teary eyed when they go to school, when you see them make good smart choices and know that you helped instill that in them. That is why you become a mom and love it.

Meltdown # 1....
The icing on the cake was when Dawson realized on the way home that we didn't go to Chad's cousins house like we had originally planned that night and was bummed and said, "did mom mess it up?" My feelings were so hurt. Do I really screw things up that much that my 8 year old has to comment on them? I know deep down that he was trying to joke, but with everything that had happened, it was just too much... and the flood gates were opened.
*sigh*
The hormones have taken over....
Once I post this (some people don't know I am pregnant and I don't want them to find out this way) I am sure that many more will follow it...
many more meltdowns are sure to come....
stay tuned!!!

Kids grow up way too fast....

Sigh....they just grow up too fast. So my advice to Aaron and Reagan..since they will be new parents in about 6 months...cherish every moment. Even the moments that make you want to pull your hair out (believe me all parents have those moments), remember them all. Take lots of pics and scrapbook or blog as much as you can. Even if it is just bits and pieces of information here and there, you'll regret it if you don't. I love to look back at old pics and sometimes they make me tear up. Just to see how much my babies have grown up. They may be getting ready to turn 9 and 5, but before you know it they'll be graduating high school, going of to college and getting married and having their own kids!

I've been married a week now...

Last Friday, Chad and I got married. I am so super happy. The wedding was beautiful. Exactly as I have always pictured it. I even got to walk down the aisle barefoot like I have always said I would! The weather was perfect, not a single cloud in the sky!! Plus, to top it all off I didn't let myslef get stressed. I started to flip out once, the night before the wedding, I was making the ring bearer pillows and ran out of white thread. I started to geek and decided, with Chad's help, it wasn't worth it. I'd worry about it later. In the end, Chad's mom was in town and bought two little pillows. She was like, "sorry they don't match," and it honestly didn't matter if they matched or not. I just kind of sat back and took it all in. This was our wedding day, why spend it stressing out over every little detail!? Everyone was commenting on how calm I was, and it even surprised me. Here I am, someone who stresses over every little detail, not stressing over a major event!! I feel really proud of that actually! The ceremony was very laid back, kind of hippyish in my eyes, and everyone said it fit us to a T! I am glad that it turned out so well!! The reception afterwords was a blast. We got to hang out with friends and family, some of which we don't get to see all that often. Plus Chad's mom got to make it up from Florida and I personally was greatful for that. I am sure she was happy she got to see her son's wedding too. I am so happy I got to see so many friends and family there. Those who couldn't make it, I understand and I will be posting pics on here and on myspace as I get them, so check back often!
Wednesday, I went to the social security office and the BMV to have my name changed. That made me so happy to show off my new married name!! I love being Mrs. Holly Jo Parsons now!!! Now I can call Glenn (Chad's brother) my brother-in-law and it is true!! Lol!!
